The Sunset Cabins are a landmark in Grand Marais. Tall pines shade our location on the banks of the old Sucker River, overlooking Lake Superior. We're the perfect vacation retreat.
Our
Accommodations:
- Modern cabins, fully furnished with linens, towels, and kitchen necessities
- All new queen and king sized beds
- Cable TV
- Clean and comfortable
- A magnificent view of Lake Superior.
- Cabins all have decks, fire pits, and charcoal grills
- Weekly
rentals only(Sat. to Sat.) July and August.
Three day minimum the rest of the year. - No smoking.
- Dogs welcome; sorry, no cats. Dogs are welcome in cabins 1,2,3,4 and 5. Sorry, no pets allowed in the School Forest Log Cabin or the Lodge home. There is a 5 dollar a night or 30 dollar a week cleaning fee for guests who bring pets.
- As of now there are no cleaning fees for pet-free rentals. Please be kind and take out all trash, wash dishes and put away. Return everything to it's original location and do a quick sweep out.
- Credit Cards accepted, cash or checks are preferred.
- Reservations
are easily done with a hundred dollar deposit, fully refundable with at
least a two week notice.
- All rates are
subject to 6% percent sales tax.

Whether you like to fish, hunt for rocks, or simply read a good book while relaxing on the beach, we've got it all for you to enjoy! Our sugar sand beach is the perfect place to unwind and watch the big lake freighters pass by. Conveniently located close to snowmobile and cross country ski trails.
Seasonal Rates apply to our accommodations.

Off season: March 16 -May 14 and October 26 - December 14

Log Cabin in School Forest
|
Our newest
rental, just a half of mile to the east of us by water, a five mile
drive by car through the School Forest. Situated ideally between Lake
Superior, East Bay and Mirror Lake. The Lodge itself was newly constructed
last fall. It should accomodate up to 10 people. There are two bedrooms
and a large loft with bed and second bath with a sitting area with
a futon couch. As the pictures show it is beautiful inside and out

for more photos. Rates from mid-June through August: $230/night, $1600 per week. Weeks run Friday-Friday. Weekly rentals only. The rest of the year: $230/night, $1300/week. Two night minimum. Check-in time 5:00pm, check-out time 10:30am. |

After
15 years of running the resort I find myself thinking of what comes next.
It has been a great experience to say the least and a wonderful place to
raise children.
My greatest hope is that it will be sold as a whole and the next owners
will take it to the next level.
I have
had more interest in the sale of individual cabins. I may entertain the
idea of a site condo project.
There would have to be buyers for each cabin and current reservations would
have to be honored.
It would be a great opportunity for your very own cabin on Lake Superior
and rental income also if you so desired.
